Captain Matthew McNeely is over the Jail Security Division in the Marion County Jail, which oversees all Watch Commanders and Shift Sergeants on A-Platoon and B-Platoon. These individuals are in charge of the care and security of all inmates confined to the Marion County Jail.

Captain McNeely is also over our Jail Investigations Department. This department conducts investigations such as inmate-on-inmate crimes or any crimes that take place inside the Marion County Jail.

As well as, our Detention Response Team (DRT). When there is a combative inmate, the DRT team is called to de-escalate the situation. They are also trained with hands-on cell extractions if the inmate refuses to de-escalate.
