PATROL FIELD OPERATIONS

All deputies who patrol Marion County are assigned to the Law Enforcement Bureau. In 1844, land was taken from Hillsborough, Orange, and Alachua Counties to form our county.

In 2010, Marion County deputies assigned to the Law Enforcement Bureau drove 8,055,922 miles while patrolling the county. Marion County boundaries encompass 1,652 square miles (larger than the state of Rhode Island), and due to the large area, all uniformed deputies who patrol Marion County are assigned to one of our 13 strategically located patrol districts.

Two sector Captains are responsible for the staffing and operation of the 13 Districts. The uniformed deputy is equipped with the state of the art technology to enable them to provide quality law enforcement services. By decentralizing our operations, our deputies are more accessible to the citizens we proudly serve throughout Marion County.

Captain Jon Turner is over Sector One areas in Marion County, which includes the north and western areas of Marion County.

There are six districts in Sector One all accessible to our citizens. If you have any questions or concerns for your areas, please do not hesitate to reach out to your appropriate district commander.

Captain Turner also oversees all watch commanders on A-Company, who are proudly serving the citizens of Marion County, day and night!

Captain Tom Calhoun is over Sector Two areas in Marion County, which includes the south and eastern areas of Marion County.
